Foaling down Livery

With our newly dedicated mare barn, we are excited to be able to offer foaling down for the 2025 stud season.
Foaling down packages are offered from 2 weeks prior to the mares due date, this gives each individual mare time to settle in to her new environment, and for us to get to know each individual mares normal behaviour so that we can pick up any changes that may show signs of her beginning to foal. As we know every mare is an individual with their own tricks and traits!

With daily turnout in a monitored paddock close to the stables, and stabled in large cosy beds overnight, and a daily groom. Our mares really do get the 10* treatment.

What we can offer:
* Two 15 ft by 19 ft Foaling boxes in isolated Barn, with deep straw beds. Unlimited access to forage and a balancing lick.
* Five large 13ft by 15ft outdoor foaling boxes, with deep straw beds, unlimited acces to farage and access to horslyx.
* CCTV
* Bio secure facility.
* Someone on-sight 24/7
* Specialised Mare and Foal Paddock for the mums to be to have some quiet turnout before the birth, or for the new mums to have a leg stretch with their foals in their early days before being introduced into the mare and foal herd.
* Daily vet visits from the team at Malton equine.
* 5 minute drive to Hambleton Equine Veterinary Clinic in case of emergencies.

Priced at £27 per day/ £189 per week plus a 1 time payment of £150 the morning after the arrival of the foal.
Visiting mare livery
We offer stabled and non stabled options for our visiting mares throughout the stud season. We try to accomodate all possibilities to suit both the mares and their owners.

If a mare arrives with us to be put in foal (whether that be to a residential stallion or a non residential stallion) there is a grass livery cost from the day she arrives with us, unless she is asked to be stabled overnight, then their will be a full livery cost from the day she arrives.
The cost of the grass livery will vary depending on what requirements the mare and her owner have.

Once the mare has been scanned in foal at 14-16 days, you can choose to take your mare home and bring her back for her 30 day HB scan, or to leave her onsite until she has scanned in foal with a HB. Once a mare is scanned in foal with a heartbeat, she has to be collected by day 60 in her pregnancy or by September 1st for those mares being put in foal later on in the stud season. The only exception is for mares who are staying on to be wintered and foaled with us. 

All mares are asked to arrive unshod and freshly trimmed, recently wormed, and up to date with pre vacs and Tetanus, and accompanied with their passport.
