Youngstock Livery
* Grass youngstock livery (March-October). Including AM and PM checks, Daily hoof picking and handling. Unlimited access to balancer lick (Horslyx).
* Stabled Youngstock livery . Overnight stabling, turnout in youngstock herds during daylight hours. Daily handling and feet checks. Overnight access to a Smartlick (balancer, vitamins and minerals) and access to Horslyx during turnout hours.
Farrier and vet fees/ pre vacs are available at additional costs.
Our youngstock herds are split depending on ages/gender. A herd for each age group and sex - colts and geldings will run together. This enables each youngster to learn a herd mentality whilst making friends and sharing experiences as they would in the wild. with daily handling and checks they learn to build trust up with humans in a positive environment.
Foals are weaned in twos or threes, in gender groups. They will spend the first couple of days/week stabled to learn trust with a human rather than their own mums. Once they are happy to catch, they are allowed turnout in small paddocks during daylight hours throughout the winter months. Once spring comes round they are able to head out onto full grass livery.
